Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is named after Jim Corbett ,the famous hunter ,naturalist and author . He is famous for hunting a large number of man eating leopards and tigers in India. He  was the key person  in its establishment in 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered Bengal Tiger.

Jim Corbett Natioanl park is the oldest national park in India and is located in Nainital District of Uttarkhand.

Jim Corbett national park has been visited by tourist and wildlife lovers since long time. Tourism activities is allowed only in some  selected areas inside the park to experience its diverse flora and fauna. Every season more than 70,000 visitors come to the park.

The park has  dense deciduous forest consisting mainly of sal,haldu,rohini and mango trees.The park houses 50 species of mammals,580 species of birds and 25 species of reptiles.
